Ed Will Be Touring With Taylor Swift In 2013!

Ed will be going on tour with Taylor Swift next year!! You can read all the information below and see if he will be coming to a city near you!

Taylor Swift announced tonight that she will launch a North American stadium and arena tour in early 2013 in support of her blockbuster new album, RED. Taylor made the special announcement in partnership with ABC News on tonight’s primetime TV special “All Access Nashville with Katie Couric – A Special Edition of 20/20.” RED was released this week to widespread worldwide critical acclaim and has already topped the iTunes album sales charts in 40 countries.

On The RED Tour, Taylor is currently slated to headline 58 shows in 45 cities in 29 states and 3 provinces in 2013. The tour will kick-off on March 13 in Omaha, Nebraska and continue through September. Acclaimed singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran, whose duet with Taylor from her RED album, “Everything Has Changed,” has already reached the #1 position atop iTunes all-genre Top Songs chart, will be a special guest on all of the shows on the tour.

The 2013 dates will include nine stadiums – Detroit’s Ford Field, Dallas’s Cowboys Stadium, Toronto’s Rogers Centre, Winnipeg’s Investors’ Group Field, Vancouver’s BC Place Stadium, Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field, Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field, Foxborough, Mass.’s Gillette Stadium and Chicago’s Soldier Field.

The RED Tour will be produced and promoted by The Messina Group (TMG). At Taylor’s request, every show will include tickets priced at under $50. The first tickets will go on sale on November 16th, and on-sale information is available now at www.taylorswift.com and www.abcnews.com. TMG is a partner of AEG Live, one of the top live entertainment companies in the world, which produces world tours featuring internationally renowned artists and regional concerts and festivals.

Two-time BRIT Award winning singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran has become one of the biggest musical success stories in the UK over the past year and is already a fast-rising star in the U.S. Sheeran’s debut single, “The A Team,” was Britain’s highest-charting, biggest-selling debut single of 2011; his debut album, “+”, entered the UK Albums Chart at #1 and has since been certified 5x-platinum. “+” debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 upon its stateside release via Elektra Records this past summer, with “The A Team” continuing to climb the radio charts.

Ed Sheeran Encourages Hopeful Musicians To Snub University

Ed Sheeran has advised budding musicians to avoid studying the subject at college or university.

The ‘A Team’ singer, who has the fourth best-selling album of 2012 so far, told Newsbeat that he considers academic courses to be a waste of money.

“If you want to be a producer then shadow a producer, start making him tea,” he said.

“If you want to be a singer then make sure you go to a lot of shows of people you really, really admire, study how they do it. Do your own shows, work up your confidence, write as many songs as possible so each time you do a song it gets better and better and better.

“The main thing people get messed up is they think, ‘Right I need a degree, I’m going to go off and study music at university’.”

The star added that his opinion comes from going to music college himself and finding that he was wasting his time.

Revealing that he was taught how to put up a mic stand, he quipped: “You can learn that on your own.”

Ed Sheeran: The second album won’t be cool and hip

Now that Ed Sheeran is well on the way to world domination he knows what works and not giving two hoots about what people think, he won’t be going out of his way to make his way to make his second album particularly cool or hip.

With debut album ‘+’ pretty much dominating the album chart since its release, we’d say Ed knows a few things about whipping up some musical magic. But while many artists feel a pressure to try a completely new sound for that tricky second album, El Sheero seems pretty keen on sticking to his roots.

“I’m solo now, although I might want to add a few musicians in the future,” Ed told The Mirror.

“But I started this next record all on my own and I’m going to finish it all on my own.

“The first one was written when I was 18, the next one is more of a 21-year-old’s mind.

“But I’m not going to do the typical second album thing and make it really odd sounding, cool and hip. I like the music I make, so it’s going to be similar to the first album.”

That sounds pretty sensible to us, although if you do ever fancy dressing up as all five members of One Direction, we would still try really, really hard to respect you in the same way Edward. Brownie honour.

Do you like the sound of the new album or did you have your fingers crossed that he’d be trying out some heavy drum and bass instead?
